It’s time to dust off your vampire cape and get ready to trick or treat with Halloween celebrations happening across Melbourne this weekend.
There’s something for everyone with ghost tours, Halloween feasts and some wicked parties. Here’s our pick of the best.
The celebration will span down Fitzroy St. with endless family friendly entertainment. Stilt walkers, fire twirlers and appearances from some favourite Halloween personalities, don’t be surprised if you run into Morticia Addams. Cafes and restaurants along the strip will be joining in on celebrations with special guests and some discounts.

Crafts, games and a trick or treat themed doors will be located around the zoo. Costumes are encouraged with giveaways, kids activities and some spooky food.

Melba restaurant is putting on a spooktacular feast of Halloween themed dishes. Expect some of Melbas classics with a ghoulish twist like the grilled lobster in a cardinal sauce along with ‘Freddy Nightmare Pasta’, ‘Blood Sausage Paella’ and ‘Raspberry Cream Brulee with Lychee Eyes’.

The Food Truck Park will be hosting a Halloween event in Preston for a three-day bash, dress up is encouraged with vouchers for those who impress.
Plenty of food and drink will be on offer from the carefully selected vendors.

The ultimate fun day for dogs and dog owners. Dress up your pooches in spooky costumes and take them on a trick or treat trail where they can collect treats along the way.
All dogs will also receive a goody bag.
Monies made from registration will be donated to the Lost Dogs Home in North Melbourne.

Although not a specific Halloween event, tours are being hosted over the weekend and may be perfect for those who aren’t into commercial Halloween festivities.
You can tour old Melbourne or visit the JW Lunatic Asylum or even venture out of the city for dinner and a tour of the haunted Eynesbury Golf and Homestead.

Good Things Bar is turning it’s Supersmall club into the Hogwarts Great Hall.A free drink is available for witches and wizards on entry. Choose between Butteredbeer, Potent Potion or Fireywhiskey. A range of other Harry Potter themed drinks are also on offer like Pumpkin Juice, Felix Felicis, Gigglewater, Expecto Patron and Dementor’s kiss.

For something a little less spooky but equally as exciting, Stomping Ground Brewery and Beer Hall is throwing a Stranger Things themed 80s Party. Come dressed as your favourite character or just in your 80s attire. The first beer will be at a 1985 price of $1.65 and you can try your hand at some retro video games with episodes of Stranger Things playing in the background.

If you’re over Halloween but still want to celebrate, try Mezcalito for a Day of the Dead party.
